EBME B215H Electronic Circuits

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Use key circuit analysis methods such as Ohm's law, Kirchhoff’s voltage and current laws, Thevenin's and Norton's theorems and superposition.
  • Design, simulate, and analyze different BJT and JFET biasing circuits.
  • Use small-signal models (r-parameter) for analyzing and designing BJT amplifier circuits.
  • Analyze the frequency response characteristics of small-signal BJT amplifier circuits.
  • Identify the different types of MOSFETs including power MOSFETs and understand their working principles.
  • Understand how class B and class-AB BJT power amplifier circuits work.
  • Employ circuit simulation tools (Multisim) to design and test electronic circuits virtually before physical implementation.
  • Work in teams to measure and evaluate circuit performance using lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and signal generators.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly through written reports.
